JETS Community Advisory Board

A seven member Citizens Advisory Board meets monthly to insure that JETS receives citizens’ input is on a regular basis. Board members, each appointed to a three year term by Jonesboro’s Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.  Six of the Board are appointed to represent a particular Ward within the city, while one Board member serves in an At-Large capacity.   While the JETS Community Advisory Board does not have policy making authority, its members are consulter by JETS management on an even more frequent basis than the regular monthly meetings.   The JETS Community Advisory Board generally holds its regular meeting on the First Wednesday of each month (some months our meetings are on the Second Wednesday so that reports can be readied).  Also, the meeting site is usually the Round Room of the Jonesboro-Craighead County Regional Library, JETS has a sheltered stop that serves the Library at 11 minutes after the hour.  Dates and times will be advertised in advance both on the JETs website and in the Jonesboro Sun newspaper.

JETS is an

acronym for Jonesboro Economical Transportation System and it has been providing public transportation for the City of Jonesboro since May 2006.  JETS offers both Fixed Route and Paratransit service, all within the city limits.  All JETs vehicles are equipped with wheelchair access.
JETS Fixed Route service is currently provided by three hour long loops that cover significant portions of north, west, central, and east Jonesboro.  JETS Fixed Route Service also has stops in the western-most portion of the Jonesboro Industrial Park.
